Gateshead Domestic Home Clean Case Study

At the weekend our staff were called to a three-bedroom house in the Gateshead area. Our customer informed us that he had thrown a large party the night before and he wanted us to clean up the mess, as he didn’t feel capable of facing the task himself. When we arrived at the property we understood why.

The house was covered in empty beer cans and wine bottles, as well as food remains and wilting decorations. We decided to begin by collecting all of the empties so that we could recycle them and then collect all of the glasses, mugs and crockery so that a member of our team could get started on the washing up.

We found several glasses in very strange places and also came across several broken items, which we wrapped up carefully and then put in the bin. After we had removed all of the bottles and cans, we got started on clearing the leftover food, while a member of our team started washing the large collection of glasses and plates. While we cleared up the food remains, we also took down balloons and bunting and collected several items of clothing that people had forgotten to take with them the night before.

Once we had cleared the house of all of the party remains, it was time to give all of the rooms a thorough clean. We began at the top of the house and wiped down all of the surfaces in the three bedrooms, removing dirty fingerprints from the windows and drink spillages from the windowsills and other items of furniture. The bathroom was also in quite a bad state and there were lots of cigarette butts in the sink, so after removing these we thoroughly cleaned all of the surfaces with bleach and disinfected the toilet.

Now all that we had left to do upstairs was clean the floors, which were laminate throughout. First we hoovered all of the rooms and then we mopped each room, removing all of the sticky marks, boot prints and alcohol spillages that had accumulated the night before. Once we had finished with the upstairs rooms, we moved downstairs, which was in a similar condition.

Once again, we cleaned the windows in each of the rooms and wiped down the surfaces in order to get rid of all the sticky marks. One of our team members had now finished washing and drying all of the dishes, so we packed these away in the cupboards and thoroughly cleaned all of the surfaces in the kitchen, including the top of the cooker, which had burnt food remains stuck to it.

Once we had finished cleaning all of the surfaces, all that was left for us to do was clean all of the floors. We hoovered and mopped the laminate floors in each room, removing sticky marks and a lot of spilt drinks. The house was now completely clean and you wouldn’t have been able to tell there had been a party at all. Finally we took out the recycling and then left our customer to recover from his hangover.
