Sophie’s Cleaning Tips – Stains

Wine Stain RemovalClub soda is the best thing you can use to clean wine stain:

Put the garment on the sink and pour club soda on the stain.
Wash and rinse with cool water then wash it as usual.

If the stain still persist:

Try to mix vinegar and water.
Sponge down the mixture into the stain.
And then leave it for a few minutes.
Wash normally.

If the wine spill on the table cloth, immediately sprinkle salt on the stain.

Perspiration Stain

Anti-Perspirant

Dab paper towel moisted with mixture of baking soda and vinegar on the stain.
Then wash the clothes as usual with the hottest possible water applicable for that clothes.

Beer Stain Removal

Not only it smells unpleasant, beer could also cause permanent stain.

To remove beer stain:

Prepare a mixture of vinegar and water.
Then dab over the stain.
Rinse with warm water.
Wash normally.

Paint Stain Removal

Water-Based Paint

Dry the paint with paper towel or absorbent paper.
Clean the stain with water.
Dab the stain with liquid detergent with clean cloth.
For older stain, daub some turpentine on the stain.
While the stain gets lighter, slowly scrub the stain until clean.
Wash normally.

Paint Stain Removal

Oil-Based Paint

Dry the paint as much as possible with paper towel or absorbent paper.
Turpentine or thinner dissolved with water could remove paint stain if the clothes colour does not wear-off.
