Sophie’s After Builders Cleaning Service Easington – County Durham
After Builders Cleaning Case Study – Easington, County Durham
Location: Easington, County Durham
Property Type: 4-Bedroom Detached House
Cleaning Duration: 2 Days (3-Person Team)
Date Completed: April 2025
Background
Mr. Wallace had recently overseen a major renovation project at his family home in Easington. The work included converting the garage into a home office, installing a brand-new kitchen, re-tiling two bathrooms, and having the entire ground floor re-plastered and repainted.
Although the builders had done a basic clear-out, the home was left with widespread plaster dust, paint splashes, grout haze, adhesive residue on floors and windows, and construction debris throughout. With young children in the home, Mr. Wallace needed a professional after builders clean to ensure the property was safe, hygienic, and ready for everyday living.
Scope of the Clean
Our team developed a tailored cleaning plan and worked systematically through the entire property.
Kitchen & Dining Area
- Cleaned plaster dust from high surfaces, cupboards (inside & out), extractor fan, and light fittings
- Removed dried adhesive and protective film from new appliances and glass splashback
- Polished stainless steel fixtures and newly installed handles
- Hoovered and mopped tiled floors, carefully removing grout dust from edges and grout lines
- Cleaned skirting boards and spot-checked for paint drips around sockets and switches
- Bathrooms
- Removed grout haze and silicone marks from wall and floor tiles
- Polished all chrome fixtures, including towel rails, taps, and shower fittings
- Cleaned glass shower screens and mirrors to a streak-free finish
- Sanitised floors, sinks, toilets, and bathtubs
- Wiped down wall edges and ceiling vents to remove hidden dust
️ Bedrooms & Living Areas
- Vacuumed floors thoroughly, including corners, edges, and under radiators
- Removed fine dust from window frames, ledges, doors, and woodwork
- Polished new internal doors and removed any residue from protective coverings
- Cleaned internal windows and mirrors throughout the house
- Dusted ceiling lights, fans, and ventilation grilles
Office (Garage Conversion)
- Detailed clean of built-in shelving and desk units
- Cleaned laminate flooring with residue-safe solution
- Cleared cobwebs, paint splashes, and marks from walls and corners
- Polished new UPVC window and door frames
- Challenges Faced
- Very fine dust had settled in vents, flooring grooves, and door hinges
- Delicate finishes such as high-gloss kitchen units required non-abrasive cleaning
- Multiple materials (tile, laminate, stainless steel, UPVC) required different cleaning methods to avoid damage
- Despite the complexity, our team completed the clean within the agreed timeframe and to a showroom-standard finish.
Customer Testimonial
“Absolutely brilliant service. We thought we could manage the cleaning ourselves after the builders left, but we quickly realised it was a much bigger job than expected. The team from the after builders cleaning company were fantastic — they were careful with our new finishes, worked incredibly hard, and the attention to detail was amazing. The house genuinely looked like something out of a brochure by the time they were done. Worth every penny.”
