The Prestons had undertaken a 6-week renovation project on their charming Victorian terrace home in the heart of Norham, Northumberland. The work included:
- Knocking down the wall between the kitchen and dining room for an open-plan layout
- Installing a brand-new kitchen suite with tiled backsplash and vinyl flooring
- Fitting a downstairs WC under the stairs
- Re-plastering and repainting most rooms
- Installing new light fixtures, skirting boards, and two new interior doors
Although the builders did a solid job, they left behind a familiar trail: fine plaster dust throughout the house, paint splatters on floors and sockets, grout haze on the kitchen tiles, and general construction mess in all high-traffic areas.
