Sophie’s Professional Cleaning Service Easington
Mr. Daniel Moore contacted our team after the passing of his elderly aunt, who had lived alone in a terraced property in South Easington Lane for over 25 years. The house had not been professionally cleaned in quite some time, and there were signs of age-related neglect throughout — including heavy dust, minor hoarding, and areas of staining in the kitchen and bathroom.
As executor of the estate, Mr. Moore was preparing the home for probate valuation and eventual sale. He needed a cleaning company that could approach the situation with sensitivity, thoroughness, and discretion.
Circumstances & Cleaning Challenges
-
Significant dust and grime had accumulated on surfaces throughout the home, especially in unused rooms.
-
Old furniture and belongings blocked access to certain areas and needed to be handled with care.
-
Kitchen appliances were heavily soiled, with rust and grease build-up.
-
Bathroom fixtures showed signs of long-term hard water staining and mildew.
-
Carpeted floors throughout the home were stained and had a persistent musty odour.
-
Emotional value attached to some areas/items required extra sensitivity during the process.
Our Cleaning Approach
Our team assigned two trained technicians for a two-day deep-cleaning project. We coordinated closely with Mr. Moore throughout to ensure items of sentimental value were respected and preserved.
Cleaning Services Provided:
-
Initial decluttering and waste removal: We removed light waste and sorted recyclable items, setting aside anything of personal value for the family.
-
Full dusting and surface cleaning: We cleaned all surfaces, including windowsills, skirting boards, and hard-to-reach areas with specialist dusting tools.
-
Kitchen restoration: Appliances were degreased, cupboard interiors cleaned, and old stains removed from worktops and sink areas using food-safe degreasers.
-
Bathroom deep clean: Limescale, rust, and mildew were treated and removed; tiles and grout were scrubbed; and sanitaryware was polished and sanitised.
-
Carpet and fabric deodorisation: We vacuumed with HEPA filtration, applied targeted stain treatments, and used an odour neutraliser to eliminate mustiness.
-
Final sanitisation and odour treatment: All rooms were fogged with a gentle, non-toxic air treatment to ensure the property smelled fresh and was safe for viewings.
Results
The transformation was significant. What began as a tired, dusty home became a clean, dignified space, ready for probate evaluation and eventual marketing. Mr. Moore was deeply appreciative of the respectful way our team handled both the contents and the emotional nature of the job. The estate agent later commented that the house was in “excellent, photo-ready condition.”
Customer Testimonial
“I didn’t know where to begin. The house had meant a lot to my aunt, and I wanted it treated with care, not just cleaned like a job. Your team was thoughtful, efficient, and incredibly thorough. They respected the space and the memories it held, and when I walked back in, it was like a weight had been lifted. I can’t thank you enough — you made a difficult situation feel manageable and dignified.”
