Sophie’s Cleaning Company was contacted in August 2025 by a private landlord in Boldon Colliery who had recently regained access to a rental flat that had been occupied by a long-term tenant with hoarding tendencies. The flat had been left in an extremely poor condition — posing health risks and rendering the property unlettable in its current state.

The landlord needed urgent, professional help to clear out the contents, safely dispose of hazardous waste, deep clean the property, and make it safe for future refurbishment and letting.

Project Objectives

Remove all hoarded items and rubbish from the flat
Identify and preserve any documents, valuables, or sentimental belongings
Deep clean the property, including bathroom and kitchen sanitisation

Initial Condition of the Property

Upon arrival, our team conducted a full site assessment with the landlord. Notable issues included:
